Sunday morning at Grace Bible Church we will continue teaching the series on Stewardship: Becoming a Person God Can Trust. The Stewardship of Marriage will be the topic.

What does God say in His Word concerning the first institution He established for the wellbeing of the whole world? There is a divine “Law of Marriage and Family.” It is “two whole persons who are to be building life in each other and building a life together as God intended when He created man and woman.”

In this study we will discover the Seven Links of Oneness that will help husbands and wives, present and future, to be better stewards in marriage by “building” into each other as God intended.

Over 50% of all marriages in the USA end in divorce, including Christian marriages. The institution of marriage is under assault. Families, communities and nations are suffering from this attack. The Church is not reflecting the image of Christ to the world when this basic building block is weak and crumbling.

Don’t miss this vital message on “The Stewardship of Marriage.”

There will be plenty of conversation starters for dialog with your family and friends about the topic. Invite a friend, neighbor, or co-worker to join us for this important and relevant topic. Don’t miss out on the rest of the messages in this series, “Stewardship: Becoming A Person God Can Trust.”

  • New women’s Bible study begins Tuesday, February 7th at Grace House. The study is Lord Teach Me to Study the Bible in 28 Days. This book is by Kay Arthur and is a great tool to learn how to do inductive Bible Study. The current plan is to go through this book and then take book of the Bible and do it together as well. Books can be purchased at Lifeway Christian Store or online.  Please let Joy Gresham know if you’re interested!
  • Test the Tithe Month is February.  If you have never practiced the spiritual discipline of tithing this is an opportunity to put one of God’s great promises to the test.  Malachi 3:10: Bring the full tithes into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. And thereby put me to the test, says the LORD of hosts, if I will not open the windows of heaven for you and pour down for you a blessing until there is no more need.
  • Hope Pregnancy Center’s 2012 Father Daughter Purity Ball

Dates: February 2, 3, and 4

Doors Open: 6:30 pm

Program: 7:00 – 9:00 pm

Location: Emmanuel Family Life Center, 303 Fairview Lane, Clarksville

Cost: $30 per father-daughter couple, $5 for each additional daughter.

The eighth annual Father Daughter Purity Ball will be here before we know it!  Open to fathers, grandfathers, uncles or any male role model, and young ladies in grades K through 12, as well as college age.  Come enjoy dancing, dessert, and an age-appropriate purity message.  Important relationships will be strengthened, and lasting memories will be made!

Hundreds of native missionary pastors are without transportation making their work of disciple-making and church planting much more difficult. A bicycle is a tremendous tool that enables these church planting pastors to travel  easier and faster to carry the Gospel to neighboring villages. It is also increases their ability to support themselves. Bicycles are like a pickup truck to our Zambian families.The GOAL for this project is to buy 25 bicycles to be dispersed throughout the Hope Builders Ministries mission in Zambia. Each bicycle costs $110. Please pray and give toward this project. The Goal is 25 bicycles but it would be awesome to give more! Just think, it is like buying these pastors a car here in America! It is worth that much to them. Most native families in rural Africa make much less than $50 a month. We can help and be a blessing as well as receive rich eternal dividends by sharing with them.

Please consider a generous, sacrificial gift to provide a bicycle to rural pastors in Zambia.

Grace Bible Church will collect these gifts on December 11. Gifts can be given anytime. Be sure to designate Zambia Bicycle Project.

RIDE ON!

  • Beginning Nov. 1, the Clarksville Street Department will begin picking up yard debris, leaves and limbs
The service will continue through Nov. 27. Yard debris, such as leaves, must be gathered in biodegradable paper bags or cardboard boxes and placed near the street, according to the release.
Tree limbs must be six feet or shorter in length. The Street Department will not pick up limbs where a commercial company has pruned trees.
To have yard debris picked up, contact the Clarksville Street Department at (931) 472-3353 or email debris@cityofclarksville.com stating your address, how many biodegradable paper bags you have or if you have limbs. The debris must be on the City’s right of way and not in the street.

GBC’s Annual Fall Festival is Saturday, October 29th beginning at 3 pm at John and Barbara Anderson’s place, 3048 York Road, Pleasant View TN 37146.
There will be games for all ages (horseshoes, corn cob toss), horseback riding, food, bonfire, hay rides, fireworks and lots of visiting and fellowship. Please bring enough food to feed your whole family plus guests, an entire meal (ex: main course, a side or two and a dessert, all complete with serving utensils) for the potluck. Drinks are provided. We will be eating at 5 pm. Also, please bring chairs and/or blankets, jackets and a change of clothes for kids!  Please feel free to invite your friends!

There will be two local gatherings for the NDOP.  Both events will take place at the Civic Hall in the Veteran’s Plaza on Pageant Lane.  The first will be from Noon to 1:00 PM and will feature times of prayer for various state and local leaders and some special music.  The second will be from 6:30-8:00 PM and will follow a “concert of prayer” of prayer format.  There will be sessions of corporate prayer interspersed with praise and worship.  Talk to Pastor Mark if you need more info.

  • Meal Ministry

The Meal Ministry is in need of volunteers.  If you are looking for a ministry and are willing to deliver meals to people when needs arise (babies, illness, or any other times when meals provided by someone else would be a blessing), please contact Katherine Clark at (931) 906-3372 or clark1988@bellsouth.net.  Also, for those of you already a part of the Meal Ministry, if you are no longer able to participate, please contact me so I can update the roster.  Thank you so much for your willingness and all that you do.

  • Relocation:
GBC will be relocating to the Riverview Inn downtown beginning Sunday, May 1, 2011.  Service times will remain the same- 10:30 AM.  We will be meeting the lower ballroom with the exception of 4 Sundays this summer. One of them being the first Sunday, May 1.  On these Sundays the adults will meet in the Montgomery Room on the main floor and the children will meet the Commodore Room down the hall.  There will be two hotel rooms one floor up used for the nursery and for a children’s classroom.  The other three Sundays will be May 29th,  June 12th and July 17th

Those members and regular attenders who do not practice the stewardship of tithing are challenged to put God to the test in the month of April.   Claim the promise of Malachi 3:10, “Bring the full tithes into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. And thereby put me to the test, says the LORD of hosts, if I will not open the windows of heaven for you and pour down for you a blessing until there is no more need.”

  • Offering for Jeff Hawkins
The Offering for Jeff was a little over $3000- great job guys! You are to be commended for your stewardship and generosity.
  • Clarksville Spring Cleaning

Clarksville Street Department will begin its annual Spring Clean Up on March 21, when crews will pick up yard debris, leaves and limbs at city residents.

Yard debris, such as leaves, must be placed in biodegradable paper bags and placed near the street. Tree limbs must be in lengths of four feet or less.  The Street Department will not pick up limbs pruned by a commercial company. The clean-up service will continue through April 8.

In order to schedule a picked up, contact the Street Department at 645-7464 between 7 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
