He plans to visit them soon. We must PRAY.

We need to remember to pray for our brethren. Christians are persecuted all over the world. We are especially accountable to remember the missionaries God has given us to partner with.

  • 40 Days in the Word.  Beginning Easter Sunday and for the six weeks following we will be learning how to:  Love the Word, Learn the Word, and Live the Word.  To get the full benefit of this emphasis everyone should plan to attend every service, become a part of a small group if you are not a part of one yet, get either a book mark or key chain with the memory verses on them, and sign it to read or listen to a daily devotional.  If you are not in a small group we will sign up for books the next couple of Sundays.  See Jeff Hawkins to find out more about the small groups.
  • Need for Childcare for Sunday Evening Classes:  We have a need for childcare for our Sunday afternoon/evening classes.  This is a paying position.  If you or someone you know would be interested contact any of the elders.
  • Men’s Prayer and Work Day:  Saturday Morning April 7th.  7:30 AM see Robert Chittenden for details.
  • Men’s Retreat April 13,14:   “Impact: Discovering the Power of 1” will be held at the Hilldale Baptist Church’s Family Life Center.  Cost:  $45.  Time:  5-9 Friday Evening and 7:30-11:30 AM on Saturday Morning.  Cost includes dinner and breakfast and a workbook.  James Merritt the guest speaker.  See Pastor Mark for more details.

  • Dan Carfrey Coming to Grace: Dan Carfrey will be with GBC Sunday March 11 and sharing the Word. He is the church planter who God used to start GBC and pastor it for 10 years. He has been a professor at Appalachian Bible College where he has served as both dean of students and academics and head of the pastoral department. He is a discipler of men preparing for pastoral ministry in local churches both in the USA and oversees. Before suffering from a stroke Shirley served in the office of Financial Aid. Dan and Shirley live near the college in Mt. Hope, West Virginia. A love offering will be received for them Sunday morning.
  • Supper Six Signup:  It’s time to start Supper Six groups again! This is a great way to get to know others in our body! It is a three month commitment, getting together with your group once a month, for the three months.   • Time Change:  Spring Forward On Sunday March 11.
  • Hazardous Waste Collection Day- The Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation’s mobile household hazardous waste collection service will be in Montgomery County on March 17.  On Saturday, March 17, any Tennessee resident may bring his or her household hazardous waste to Veterans Plaza, 350 Pageant Lane in Clarksville, from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m. The local contact for this HHW collection event is Pete Reed at (931) 648-5751.

    Typical items to dispose of include cleaning fluids, pesticides, mercury thermometers and thermostats, fluorescent bulbs, lithium and button batteries, aerosols, adhesives, medications, brake fluid, swimming pool chemicals and paint thinner. Items not accepted include ammunition, explosives, alkaline batteries, paint, electronics, medical waste and any items from a school, commercial business or agri-business.

    When transporting materials to the site, place containers in sturdy boxes lined with newspaper to prevent spills and cross-contamination in the trunk of a car or back of a truck. Be sure to keep materials away from children and pets. Materials should be kept in the original container whenever possible. If not, place the waste in a plastic jug with a secure lid and label its contents.

  • Test the Tithe Month is February.  If you have never practiced the spiritual discipline of tithing this is an opportunity to put one of God’s great promises to the test.  Malachi 3:10: “Bring the full tithes into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. And thereby put me to the test, says the LORD of hosts, if I will not open the windows of heaven for you and pour down for you a blessing until there is no more need.”
  • Baptism: We will be baptizing on Sunday March 4th after the morning service in the hotel swimming pool upstairs.  If you haven’t followed the Lord in believers baptism and desire to indicate it on the bottom of your attendance card or speak with Pastor Mark.  For those desiring baptism there will be a one hour class on Sunday, February 26th at 5:30 at Grace House.
  • Early Voting for the Tennessee Primary.  Voting continues through Feb. 28 at the Montgomery County Election Commission, 350 Pageant Lane, Suite 404. The dates and hours are today, Feb. 22, through Saturday, Feb. 25, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., then Monday, Feb. 27, through Tuesday, Feb. 28, from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.  Primary election day in Tennessee will be Tuesday, March 6, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m

Sunday morning at Grace Bible Church we will continue teaching the series on Stewardship: Becoming a Person God Can Trust. The Stewardship of Marriage will be the topic.

What does God say in His Word concerning the first institution He established for the wellbeing of the whole world? There is a divine “Law of Marriage and Family.” It is “two whole persons who are to be building life in each other and building a life together as God intended when He created man and woman.”

In this study we will discover the Seven Links of Oneness that will help husbands and wives, present and future, to be better stewards in marriage by “building” into each other as God intended.

Over 50% of all marriages in the USA end in divorce, including Christian marriages. The institution of marriage is under assault. Families, communities and nations are suffering from this attack. The Church is not reflecting the image of Christ to the world when this basic building block is weak and crumbling.

Don’t miss this vital message on “The Stewardship of Marriage.”

There will be plenty of conversation starters for dialog with your family and friends about the topic. Invite a friend, neighbor, or co-worker to join us for this important and relevant topic. Don’t miss out on the rest of the messages in this series, “Stewardship: Becoming A Person God Can Trust.”

  • It is not too late to get involved in Financial Peace University  This 13 week class is lead by John Anderson.  If interested in taking this class please let John know or show up this afternoon at Grace House.   Class will be from 3-5 on Sundays.  Cost of materials is $95.
  • Discovering Grace Bible Church continues this afternoon from 3-5.
  • New women’s Bible study begins Tuesday, February 7th at Grace House. The study is Lord Teach Me to Study the Bible in 28 Days. This book is by Kay Arthur and is a great tool to learn how to do inductive Bible Study. The current plan is to go through this book and then take book of the Bible and do it together as well. Books can be purchased at Lifeway Christian Store or online.  Please let Joy Gresham know if you’re interested!
  • Test the Tithe Month is February.  If you have never practiced the spiritual discipline of tithing this is an opportunity to put one of God’s great promises to the test.  Malachi 3:10: Bring the full tithes into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. And thereby put me to the test, says the LORD of hosts, if I will not open the windows of heaven for you and pour down for you a blessing until there is no more need.
  • Hope Pregnancy Center’s 2012 Father Daughter Purity Ball

Dates: February 2, 3, and 4

Doors Open: 6:30 pm

Program: 7:00 – 9:00 pm

Location: Emmanuel Family Life Center, 303 Fairview Lane, Clarksville

Cost: $30 per father-daughter couple, $5 for each additional daughter.

The eighth annual Father Daughter Purity Ball will be here before we know it!  Open to fathers, grandfathers, uncles or any male role model, and young ladies in grades K through 12, as well as college age.  Come enjoy dancing, dessert, and an age-appropriate purity message.  Important relationships will be strengthened, and lasting memories will be made!
